A general review of development and status in quo of muli-well method is given and the gap on mining technology, theoretical research and salt cavern use etc between our country and western developed countries is pointed out in this dissertation. Then methods of solution mining are analysed. Making use of multi-well method, the quantity of rock salt mining is more, the concentration of brine is higher, and the shape of cavity is regularer than others. So, now it is the direction of soluion mining home and overseas. Salt cavity control is very important in solution mining with the purpose of brine prodution and cavity utilization.Usually the site of salt cavities is several thousands metres below the surface of the earth. Utilizing current test teclinology, we can obtain the shape of cavity. But the cost is very expensive. We must study the numerical simulation of salt cavern development. Therefore, this dissertation generally expatiates the mechanism of salt dissolution and cavern development first. Cavern development is influenced by various facts. The distribution of brine concentration and the dissolution velocity of salt wall are main facts. Typically, using the computer software ,we simulate the flow status of two-well system. We obtain a reasonable velocity field and concentration field. Utilizing C++ programme and the results of computation based on FLUENT , we make a seria of numerical simulations of cavern developent. For the demand of engineering, we further build a three-dimentional mathematical model based ontwo-dimentional model, and simulate the three-dimentional development of a salt cavern. Finally, the results are displayed by three-dimentional visualization technology. The geometric structure of salt cavern development can be directly observed. The results of simulation indicate that the shape of caverns adopting these computing methods are correspond with experiments. Therefore, the numerical simulation models are successful to a certain extend. All these can provide consultation for the cavern control in multi-well method.
