Cold rolling is a kind of manufacturing technique that commonly used for ring parts especially bearing ring. This thesis is derived from the research project about key technology and complete equipments that supported by the national development plan committee. It's a part of the thesis "the complete equipment for bearing ring precision rolling and grinding". The main work is improving the efficiency and the quality of designing process of the rolling mill PCR-80 with the implementation of CAD/CAE techniques. The contents of the thesis including parts as followed: Firstly, the general finite element analysis software AN SYS was used to made an analysis and simulation of the plastic deformation of the bearing ring. Conclusions can be drew from the analysis as the guidance of the designing of rolling mill and the establishment of cold rolling manufacturing process. The second, three dimensions model and the virtual assembling of the cold rolling mill was made in this thesis with the CAD software SolidWorks2004, and a second development of the software was made, that including adding a menu specially used for the designing of the rolling mill on the interface of SolidWorks, governing the parts and the units of the machine, building the three dimensions model of the mill bed parametrically. Assess2000 was used to establish the database of the parts and units. The third, Visual Basic6.0 was used to develop the software for the parametric building of the bed based on characters. The fourth, virtual assembly for the units such axis unit, roller units etc, and the total of rolling mill PCR-80 was made, and the three dimensions model of the hydraulic pipes of the machine was built.
