Microstructure evolution and wear behaviors of Hadfield steel and their Cumulate-welding composite materials under the conditions of rolling load were observed by optic microscope, TEM and other general test methods. The investigation was involved: (1) microstructure and properties of Hadfield steel by severe rolling technique; (2) transformation of component and mechanical properties of Hadfield steel under the conditions of cumulate-welding; (3) abrasive wear behaviors of Hadfield steel by rolling and cumulate-welding ;(4) their using environment.More and more high density twins were observed in Hadfield steel with the increase of distortion under severe rolling. The investigation showed that the abrasive wear capability of rolling Hadfield steel declined with increase of distortion under wear of hard milling grain and increased in soft grain. The analysis of the subsurface layer of Hadfield steel under application showed that the crack which easily induced flake-like spalling appeared between severe deformation layer and plastic current-deformation layer .The result showed that it needed conditions to improve the three-bodies abrasive wear capability of Hadfield steel under severe rolling.Research shows that the performance of matrix have no diversification nearly under the condition of cumulate-welding on the Hadfield steel. The experimentation made known that the cumulate-welding composite materials had good properties of three-bodies abrasive wear compared with many traditional materials. The traditional materials' abrasive wear mechanism was mostly the fatigue spalling of material on the surface of abrasion due to the role of grain, while the Hadfield steel matrix's abrasive wear mechanism was caused by fatigue wear from repeated plasticity deformation. At the same time, few short space cutting were observed on the surface of abrasion .The result showed that the cumulate-welding composite materials of Hadfield steel may be able to incorporate wear resistant property and plasticity. Besides, we should take notice of their using environment , for example, intensity of abrasive wear, the dimension of milling grain etc..
