The frothed mechanism and industrialization process imitation of foamed aluminum caused by blowing gas directly into the melt were studied in the paper, which belongs to an important part of a project— Guangxi fund of natural science.In the foaming process, the creation and movement of single bubble in the aluminum melt have analyzed, the nozzle geometry and its diameter have a great effect on the size and movement of the bubble. Moreover, the size of the bubble, which was mainly produced around the orifice of nozzle, is appropriate when the diameter of nozzle is between 0.3-1 mm by blowing gas directly into the melt.Also FLUENT, which is the large scale CFD software, has been applied to imitate the foaming process of aluminum melt. Three injecting models of the software were employed to imitate the creation, movement and distribution of bubble in the melt with different flow rate of gas, and the optimal solution was obtained.In addition, the device of blowing gas directly into the melt has been designed and made in order to imitate the course of horizontalcontinuous casting of foamed aluminum in the lab.Based on the experiment and analysis above, the method by blowing gas directly into the melt is feasible because of its low costs, scrap recycling and tendency to industrialization. In order to obtain good result during the preparation the following procedures must be observed: aluminum has been melt after putting the tackifier into crucible, and then let gas into the mix during stirring.
