High efficient continuous casting is necessary direction of steel metallurgy, and developing technology is the base impetus. Market competition became furious, manufactures took measures against the situation to improve quality of productions and reduce cost. Based on the casters in existence, taking modern technology rebuilding, heightening production efficiency, is the route about development of continuous casting. The technology of high efficient continuous casting is suitable for rebuilding the casters in existence, providing with less investment, taking effect rapidness, depressing manufacture cost and so on, is obtained general value and grow. The development of oscillator is studied, the features of various oscillators are introduced, and the non-sinusoidal oscillation waveform that is fit for oscillation of mould is particularly analyzed. It is a trend that can't replace of using non-sinusoidal oscillation of mould. Based on studying the oscillation waveform, the oscillator and the leaf spring guidance, a fully new whole-leaf spring oscillator is designed. The oscillation system uses leaf spring for oscillation guidance, realized oscillation for mold through cascaded leaf spring. The equation of guiding accuracy for whole-leaf spring oscillator is built. Optimum design of oscillator is accomplished after establishing mathematical model and selecting optimum method. The oscillator can reach high oscillation precision, improve the quality of strand and increase the efficiency of casting.
