Processed in accordance with the principle of mesh between gear and rack, rack is widely used in mechanism industry fields such as machine tools, agriculture machines, construction machines, engineering machines and other implements . As the technology of mechanism develops, more and higher demands are required in the aspects ,which are processing precision, efficiency and flexibility, of manufacturing rack.To great extent, the development of rack manufacturing techniques is shown in the advancement of precision grade and of manufacturing efficiency. After the rack processing is Numerical Controlled,the mechanism transmission chain is shortened greatly, and the construction of machine is simplified, and the precision is improved. At the same time, Numerical Control decreases the adjusting time of machine tool and hence enhances its processing efficiency.Basing on analyzing current development situation and trend of rack processing , this paper put forwards a kind of Numerical Control (NC) machine for rack ,embodying the following contents.First, according to analyzing the mesh principle and the enveloping principle, the paper does a study about the principle of rack processing and proposes a parameter equation of rack tooth profile.Second, the paper analyzes the movement of rack shaper , designs a mechanical construction of Numerical Controlled rack shaper,constructs a dynamics mode ,and discusses some key techniques.Third, the paper designs a Numerical Control System, based on the Programmable Logic Controller(PLC), which adapts to Numerical Controlled rack shaper. Then, the author analyzes the hardware system and software system in detail.At last ,the paper takes an in-depth study in the processing techniques of gear shaper on the basis of the characteristic of rack processing.
