Our country's air pollution is one of the most severely in the world. The key factor of sulfur dioxide contamination is coal burning. Desulfuration during coal combustion is a technique to control sulfur dioxide pollution, and it is especially applies to China. But the conventional sulfur fixation sorbent is limited in use because of its low efficiency. To finding some sulfur fixation sorbents with cheaper price and higher efficiency is the keystone of air environmental protecting study currently. At the same time, fly ash is the solid waste of burnt-coal, abundant of fly ash is badly endangering the surrounding environment. At present, only 30 percent fly ash is used in our country, but its environmental protecting value has been regarded.This text contraposed to some characters of fly ash, intend to prepare and transmute the fly ash to be a sulfur fixation sorbent, which is cheaper and have higher efficiencent, and researched on its sulfur fixation by experiment. Like this, on one hand the new use approach in environmentalism is to be developed, which can raise the utilization rate of fly ash. On the other hand the new sulfur fixation sorbent will be found and more excellent removal finds of sulfur dioxide will be discovered.During experiment preparation of sulfur fixation sorbent transmuted from fly ash, we discover: transmuted from fly ash in the condition that 10 gram sodium carbonate was added to 30 gram fly ash to calcine together for 2 hours, and then add to 12 gram calcium hydroxide and 700 ml. distilled water in a beaker which was located in a water bath at 70 cent degree with agitation in high speed and digest 8 hours, can be gained the highest average efficiency of sulfur fixation, of which the influence of the calcium hydroxide added quantity to sulfur fixation efficiency is the most markedness. Experiment research on sulfur fixed using sulfur fixation sorbent transmuted from fly ash, the results proves: it has a better sulfur fixation efficiency to coal of high sulfur content and volatile component, the efficiency exceed 80 percent than others, the influence of the temperature to sulfur fixation efficiency is more than others, when the temperature between 700 to 1100 cent degree, the efficiency is better. The less difference between the coal and the sulfur fixation grain diameter, the efficiency is better. The sulfur fixation is the best when the molar Ca/S ratio is 1.5. Comparing with other sulfur fixation sorbent experiments, the efficiency of the sulfur fixation sorbent got from this experiment is higher over 30 percent. This experimental result proves the sulfur fixation has good sulfur fixation efficiency and industry value. The result is useful to the research on industry application.
