In recent years, in consideration of the security, economical efficiency, and environmental protection, the light-weighting of automobile body were evolve as the one of the trend of the industrial development, high strength of sheet metal and the aluminum alloy sheet metal were apply broadly in the automobile body. The mechanical property of high strength of steel and the aluminum alloy was different with the ordinary low carbon steel. That leads the springback of the covering-parts of the automobile which were stamped with these two materials was greater than that of the ordinary low carbon steel.So the springback issues is much more serious .The springback of the parts can straightly affect the assemble, the structural properties of the general parts, and the appearance. So, the springback issues is difficultly and heatedly in the sheet metal forming field now. Especially in the springback of flanging field, the flow of metal in the flanging forming process were very complex, and the theoretical analysis was difficult too. So, the study on this issue was relatively few both here and abroad. With the development of computer technology and FEM theory, FEM have been popularly used in the analysis of sheet metal forming. The method can be used accurately simulate the sheet metal flanging and its springback which have the non-linear geometry , the non-linear material and the the non-linear boundary.The writer study the flanging and it's springback which are the problems comes from R&D and production field, using the FEM soft-wares MSC.Marc/Mentat and eta-Dynaform. The writer study the flanging and springback based on the synthesis consult and digest absorb a great deal of overseas and domestic literature information. Firstly, analyse the flanging and springback , and the factors which arouse the springback. Then, the finite element theory foundation of computer simulation technology and function of the sheet forming simulation software—MSC.Marc/Mentat and eta-Dynaform was introduced briefly. Thirdly, by using the FEM software MSC.Marc/Mentat, the round hole flanging and springback, and clearance between punch and die, the radius of die, the radius of punch were analysed in 2D state in order to save the time.Then the binder force ,friction coefficient and material,and their effection on springback were studied by using eta-Dynaform in 3D state. At the same time, the variety of internal energy in course of flanging forming and springback with different material were gained. Lastly, the basic rules of flanging springback was validated by analyzing the flanging part which have springback defaults with the former rules. The flanging springback results that come from FEM analysing can guide the production of other similar parts and will play an important role in interrelated studying.
