This thesis firstly summarized the progress of shape and development of the ecological environment fragility in the whole world. And it also elucidated the importance of "3S" technology in the fields. The study is still at the starting stage at present. Secondly, this text completed the task of monitoring and appraisal of the ecological environment fragility in Fuzhou. There is the following several step mainly, they are respectively, study the fragile ecological environment types and the primary reason formed, draw out the index factors that can reflect the ecological environment through remote sensing and GIS technology, obtain every index factor weight coefficient by adopting the analytic approach of the level, get the comprehensive appraisal map and eventually divide the fragility into six grades after we get the statistics data of all kinds of standard fragility districts which are obtained by eight open-air investigations. The six fragility grades are respectively no fragility, very slight fragility, little fragility, medium fragility, very serious fragility, extreme fragility. Compare the .routine motheds, this study can not only compare the different districts fragility by utilizing remote sensing and GIS methods, but also can get the intestine distinction in the same district, and the most small appraisal unit is 30*30m2. Finally, according to Fuzhou city ecological environment fragility comprehensive appraisal result, we analysed in detail the space distribution of the different kinds fragility districts and their habitat characteristic, etc.. Eventually it proposes that it is the key to optimize the land coverage and coordinate the land use to improve the fragile ecological environment.
