Municipal solid waste (MSW) is complicated mixture and it's components change with the different regions and se asons. The kinetic parameters for pyrolysis of MSW are important to the design and operation of thermal incineration systems. For the lack of kinetic parameters of MSW pyrolysis, many incineration systems are operated under non-optional conditions. By using the fast pyrolysis experimental system, this paper simulated the fact pyrolysis process and deeply analyzed fast pyrolysis characteristics for the individual MSW's components and their mixtures. This paper was composed of the following main parts :This paper summarized the status of international MSW's treatments and researches on pyrolysis characteristics of MSW, and then introduced the self-designed fast pyrolysis experimental system.Fast characteristics of individual component were studied. Some conclusions were summarized as following: wood, paper, fabric and kitchen rubbish have the resemble pyrolysis characteristics; it is obvious that plastic's decalescence happened during it's pyrolysis process; the range of Ï„_max from great to small in sequence is plastic, rubber, fabric, paper, kitchen rubbish and wood. This paper even selected Avrami-Erofeev's equation to simulate the fact process of MSW's fast pyrolysis. It shows that the calculated results and experimental results inosculate well. Finally, this paper presents the fast pyrolysis characteristics of MSW mixtures. It shows that: if the typical components have the resemble fast pyrolysis characteristic, their mixtures' pyrolysis characteristic has linear relation with the component's; on the contrary, the relation between is not linear.
