In this paper, a three-phase decanter centrifuge is designed according to the characteristics of drilling oily sludge and the requirements of truck-mounted plants, and tested by no-load test and on-site test.Firstly, the main specifications are determined based on the anylysis of the process requirmengts and the characteres of drilling oily sludge, and the performance data from the on-site industrial test.Secondly, a three-phase decanter centrifuge is devoloped according to the main specifications. In the course of that, a lots of works are carried out, such as the overall arrangement and design, the design of compoments and parts, especially the analysis and design of the discharge device. And the selection of transmitting tpye and auto-control system.Thirdly, the strength of bowl, the life of main bearings, the strength of the important transmitting and connecting components and the critical rotating speed are all caculated and proofread based on the analysis of the force. The capacity of the machine is checked. The energy consumption is calculated to select the main motor.Finally, the protype machine is produced to test it. The design is ok. The no-load test and the on-site industrial test are carried out separately. Both tests prove that the design is succeful, and the protype machine is achieved the rules of JB/T4335-91 and tpye LWS260×962-N three-phase decanter centrifuge can meet the requirements of the truck-monted plants for drilling oily sludge treatment.
