According to the relevant standard three typical fabric samples of ramie, linen and hemp are chosen and measured for the analysis of their air permeability, moisture absorption, moisture permeability and effect on the common germ and epiphyte of flax fabrics pre and pro germ-resistant processing. All the results of which will be compared with that of the cotton fabric. After the analysis on the interior structures of three flax fibers and the characteristics of three flax fabrics, conclusions are drawn as following:1. The air permeability of flax fabric is further superior to that of cotton fabric. The flax fabric can refresh the air condition inside garment in time and keep up its comfort and cleanness. In these three kinds of fibers: ramie, linen and hemp, the air permeability of ramie fabric is the best one because of its lengthwise in equability and smaller specific surface-area. If adopting linen to interlace or blend with ramie or rayon, the air permeability of the fabric can be improved greatly when the tightness of the fabric is in little variety.2. The moisture absorption and moisture permeability of the flax fabric are very good, It possesses the function of controlling the climate inside the garment in a comfortable range and doesn't make mugginess. There into, the capability of moisture absorption of linen fabric is better than ramie's, but cotton fabric's is between them.3. Flax fabric has a natural antibacterial performance, especially in the performance of golden staphylococcus and colon bacillus. People can fully enjoy the excellent capabilities in radiate heat, moisture absorption, coolness and stiffness, and at the same time benefit from its natural effect of health care, though the effect is limited.4. Have been finished with physical germ-resistant finish agent of WS-8810, flax fabric can acquire satisfactory antibacterial effect. This treatment can not only make this fabric keep antibacterial effect for a long time, but also avoid generating new kinds of bacteria disserving human ecology environment; therefore it will not come into conflict with its "green consumption " concept, so it can be used safely .The research results have shown that the flax fabric is of not only the excellent comfort for dressing but also a natural health care function. The foil excavation of the natural health care function and employing the advanced finishing technique will make the flax fabrics gain a huge potential market.
