The possession and annual production of Numerical Control Machine -NC Machine are indicates of manufacture capability in any country. And NC System's development is the technical factor to hasten NC Machine's advancement. Traditionally, NC System is closed, so user couldn't carry on the secondary developing on its platform. However, open architecture NC Machine can solve this problem. The PC-based Open Architecture servo-control system has been the inexorable trend in the field of CNC technique. The thesis studies the concept and configuration of open architecture system systemically and completely; and makes design plan about the open architecture NC system's hardware configuration and software module. With the tutor's help, I have developed a kind of Open Architecture NC System in form of CNC in PC .In the respect of hardware configuration, ISA bus is a channels that the digital signal processor and main microprocessor do the data exchange, and the rising technology of motion control by DSP is the core and the full motion control chip does the assistant job. So is the hardware of servo-control card for motion designed. In the respect of software design, software module of master machine and pertaining machine is classified and function-designed; and how to promote opening and real-time of NC System is studied. After being put into practice, facts have proved that the system has such a many characters as good real-time, good reliability, short period of development and high control precision, and can achieves intelligence to some degree. So the system can be used for reference by the next phase of developing servo-control system.
