Aluminum alloys have been widely used because of its eminent chemical and physical performances. However, it can be easily damaged in traditional machining. In order to avoid the disfigurements, the method of electropolishing, which is no degenerative machining layer and residue stress, is applied in this paper. And traditional direct current is replaced by pulse current for better polishing surface quality. Resulting from the experiment, it has been proved that μ-sec pulse current electropolishing can improve the condition of discharging of polishing production, thus improve the surface quality of work piece. The principle of pulse current electropolishing is expatiated in this paper. Aimed at the eletropolishing of material LF21, a series of experiments are processed. Through analysis of the experiments, two kinds of low-cost, no-toxic and notable-effect electrolyte: composite solution of 10%NaNO3+4%Na2SO4 and 8%NaNO3+6%Na2SO4. In this base, the influence of each technical parameter on polishing surface roughness is studied. And the technical rule is obtained, so the optimum technical parameters of polishing LF21 are gained. And the technical parameters of polishing are designed by orthogonal experiment scheme, experiential equation is obtained from the method of step regression. The results can be used for reference for investigation and application of eletropolishing aluminum alloy.
