Isopropyl ether is an important intermediate for composing organism andindustrial solvent. It is widely used in medicine, baccy, chemical industrialcombination, environment protection and so on. The yearly demand of isopropyl etherin China is about 6000 ton and it mainly depends on importation.The biggest isopropyl ether production plant is Jinzhou petrochemicalcompany, it uses isopropanol propylene synthesis method and the yearly designthroughput is 3000 ton. Because of the enduring temperature limitation of the catalyst,the total isopropyl ether production of Jinzhou petrochemical company is about1000ton from the year 1998 to 2004. In order to solve this bottleneck problem, weuses high temperature colophony catalyst-DNW for the synthesis of isopropyl ether,and the feasibility of this method is studied in this paper.1. The optimized synthesis reaction technical conditions were established astemperature at 130 ℃, pressure at 4.0MPa, volume airspeed at 1h-1, themol ratio of isopropanol and propylene at 1:2.2. 800 hours stability experiment was done under the optimized conditions,the content of congruence oil and acid was investigated too.3. The technics flow sheet for the synthesis of isopropyl ether using hightemperature colophony catalyst-DNW is given out, at the same time theeconomy analysis is done in this paper.
