According to the previous research results, the thesis focuses on analysisand design of a novel 3-DOF translational parallel machine tool. The layout feature of the 3-C U~∧platform mechanism is presented. The forwardand reverse position are established by using spatial mechanisms, and theirexclusions are validated.By using the inverse kinematics equations established and the architectureconstraints, its workspace is investigated. The shape of the workspace outlinesand the three-dimensional entity are acquired. The effects of the designparameters to the workspace volume are studied quantitatively.Kinematics transmission isotropy evaluation criteria is defined. The distrib-ution of the defined evaluation criteria are presented on the workspace. On the effect of the different factors, the error models of the machine toolare established. By using the cumulate theory, the error expression is acquired. The distribution of the error evaluation criteria defined by us are studied. Thegeneral location error evaluation criteria is defined, the distribution of thelocation error and the effect of different factors on the general location error are studied. The glob kinematics transmission isotropy evaluation criteria and the globgeneral errors are proposed. By using the physical model theory, the relationshipsbetween the glob performance evaluation criteria and the structural parameterare analyzed within the special model of the machine tool defined by us. Thecorresponding atlases are plotted. The method provides a new way for thecomputer-aide global optimal design of the parallel machine tool.
