The security of water quality is the focus of people's attention. Coupling and resolving hydrodynamic and water quality equation is the common method of water environmental numerical simulation. With the development of fuzzy theory, grey system theory and stochastic theory, the method of uncertainty is being applied in model calculation and water quality assessment. The article summarized the domestic and overseas research achievement at present, aimed at distribution and discharge regularity of pollution sources in the section of Nanjing, combined with stochastic theory, considered pollution sources with the character of random discharge as random values, established 2-D stochastic quality model and forecasted the probability distribution of contaminants at the sensitive points of water source district in different conditions.Contrasting and analyzing the results of two kinds of calculation methods, we can see that it is caused by the stochastic discharge that water quality fluctuates and changes.
