It is required for an open architecture CNC system that the system should bebuilt on an opening platform, to achieve characters such as opening, interchanging,replanting, and expanding. A modularized structure is required, so that users can,based on requirements, choose, integrate, change or expand functions of the system,so that different applications can be adapted rapidly.Open architecture motion controlling technique is an integrated technique ofcomputer, sensing technology, electronic technology and mechanical engineering, etc.Motion controlling products can be directly used in robots, CNC machines and otherfacilities.Traditional style of NC technology education in colleges is closed and simplex.It mainly depends on teachers' instructions in class, while in practice aspects, some"demonstrate experiments", or some simple operation training on NC machines arecarried out to students. An operating platform, from layout and application ofnumerical technology to the research and developments of NC system, is lacked inthe whole teaching process.Thus, the research aim of this paper is to build an open architecture NC platformfor NC teaching, researching, and exploitation in colleges. And the main task of thispaper is to create such a platform of software and hardware to meet requirements ofsenior NC students training.The contents of this paper are: layout of opening NC teaching platform, softwareand hardware design of opening system, research and development of NC teachingplatform. In the layout of opening NC teaching platform, the characters and structuralstyles of opening NC technique are analyzed, based on that, a researching anddeveloping flow of opening motion controlling technology platform, is carried out. Inthe software and hardware design of opening system, taking the research anddevelopment of TDNC-R5 NC system as an example, a method of constructingopening NC system platform is explained from tow aspects of software and hardware.In the NC teaching platform, NC teaching platform in colleges is oriented andknowledge structure is analyzed firstly, then, taking TDNC-R5 NC system as amasterstroke, the layout and development of NC teaching platform is achieved fromtwo aspects of software and hardware. The research and development of platformhave some instructional significance for NC students' cultivation in colleges.
