The open CNC has many advantages compared with the traditional numerical control system, and become the direction of future numerical control technology. All open architecture CNC system should be built on an opening platform, achieve characters such as opening, interchanging,replanting, and expanding. With a modular structure, allowing users to select, integrate and change or expand the function of the system according to the needs, quickly adapt to different application requirements. This paper start from the actual situation,In order to improve the practice teaching and students’ practical ability, this paper develops a set of open CNC teaching experiment platform based on motion controller.In this paper, research the design of open CNC technology teaching platform, the overall design of the software and hardware of the open CNC system, and this teaching platform can finish practical teaching function. In the numerical control system hardware structure aspect, through to the research of system hardware and the electrical wiring, build the numerical control three axis machine tool.The next is the development of the software control system of this platform. Using VC++6.0 as a developing tool under the Windows operating system. Finish the design of initialization, the single axis motion, the multi axis motion, the tool radius compensation module, and the system state real-time display module. The whole system software uses the idea of modularization, which is convenient for the two time expansion.Finally, through the actual processing wax verify the the system can accomplish the most functions of the three axis milling machine, such as tool compensation function, engraving function. With a certain processing capacity,The research and development of the platform has a certain guiding significance for the cultivation of the numerical control talents in higher vocational colleges.
