Theoretical research is always used to guide experimentation in petrochemical machinery study for along time. Lots of experimentations need massive equipment, high cost, and have long experimental cycle.They only can get the result of certain parameterss but the flow field of equipment. CFD can solute partialdifferential system of equations of fluid motion, heat and mass transfer on computer. Based on CFD theory,design and operation management level can be improved in chemical process machinery design, investmentcan be decreased, production efficiency can be enhanced, and energy consumption can be reduced. In thisthesis, the CFD software-Fluent is made for example. Grid form and use skill, discretization ofcontrol equations, and the methods of getting exact result through decreasing error and monitoring solutionprocess are discussed for simulation. Combining the character of petrochemical machinery andusing CFD theory, continuity, pressure, velocity, energy equations are founded. Then, computer model isfounded by Fluent, and that model can be confirmed through contrast between simulation result andexperiment data. Finally, the model's parameters are improved based on CFD theory and simulation result,and optimization scheme is provided for operation. There are three examples in this thesis: 1.Fluid-fluidhydrocyclone is simulated, the velocity and pressure field inside hydrocyclone is worked out, and thestructure of hydrocyclone is optimized, that can improve separation efficiency 6%. 2.Flood impacting oilpipe is simulated, Karmen vortex street is got, and the force value of different bareness pipe underdifferent velocity flood impacting.3.Soil temperature field of oil pipe is simulated, steady andunsteady soil temperature field is got, and the longest safe time after pipe shutdown undercertain operation parameters is estimated.
