In this paper,the oil-water separation method,swirl separation technology and the research progress of adjustable hydrocyclone are briefly introduced,based on the advantages of inner-cone hydrocyclone in oil-water separation,a wide flowrate hydrocyclone is designed.The three-dimensional model is established by Solidworks software,the grid is divided by Gambit software,and the numerical simulation is carried out by Fluent software.The orthogonal test method is used to optimize the structural parameters of the cyclone,and the influence of the separation efficiency on the length of the overflow pipe,the diameter of the overflow pipe,the angle of the large cone section,the angle of the small cone section and the length of the bottom flow section is analyzed.The initial structure and the optimized structure are compared by studying the velocity distribution,pressure loss and oil phase volume fraction.The simulation results show that the separation effect of the optimized structure is better.The influence of operation parameters on cyclone is studied.Numerical simulation is carried out by changing the inlet flow rate and overflow shunt ratio respectively.The velocity distribution,pressure loss distribution and oil phase volume fraction distribution under different operating parameters were compared and analyzed,the optimal flow rate and the optimal shunt ratio of the fixed structure hydrocyclone are obtained,the separation performance of the fixed structure hydrocyclone and the wide flow rate hydrocyclone under different flow conditions is compared,compared with fixed structure hydrocyclone,wide flow rate hydrocyclone widens the high efficiency area of hydrocyclone.Experimental scheme was designed,the fixed structure hydrocyclone and the wide flow rate hydrocyclone are tested,the experimental results show that the effects of flow rate and overflow shunt ratio on pressure loss and separation efficiency are similar to those of numerical simulation,but different in size,and the separation efficiency of the two hydrocyclones under the same flow rate is compared.It is found that in addition to the optimum flow rate,the separation efficiency of wide flow hydrocyclone is obviously higher than that of fixed structure hydrocyclone.The PIV technique was used to test the velocity field of the three different regions of the swirling cavity,the large cone section and the small cone section of hydrocyclone,the variation rule of velocity vector and axial velocity of fixed structure hydraulic hydrocyclone and wide flow rate hydrocyclone under different flow rate is studied emphatically,it is found that with the increase of the flow rate,the velocity vector and axial velocity increase gradually,and the inlet of the wide flow rate hydrocyclone is adjusted according to the flow rate change,even if flow rate is small,the velocity vector and axial velocity of wide flow rate hydrocyclone are closer to that of 3m3·h-1 and the number of derived vortices in a wide flow rate hydrocyclone decreases obviously.
