Closed-cage inorganic fullerene-like nanoparticles and nanotubes of MoS2 (IF-MoS2) offer numerous potential applications,in our country the research and development of it is very important.The present preparation has some disadvantages.Products synthesized by solution reaction ,which require complicated technology and reactor,contain some impurity. Products synthesized by gas-phase reaction mostly demand valuable,corrosive and virulent gas H2S.Sulfide instead of sulfureted hydrogen,because S possess reductive, vastly reduce preparation costly.By using MoO3 and S as raw materials ,and using high pure Ar gas as transportation carrier and reaction atmosphere,fullerene-like nanoparticles and nanotubes of MoS2 have been prepared by chemical vapour deposition in reactor which was designed by ourselves .The element of products was charactered using XRD,and unitary microcosmic morphology of products was investigated using SEM, and microcosmic morphology and crystal lattice image of single nanoparticle and nanotube was studied using TEM and HRTEM.The influences to products of reaction temperature ,gas flow rate inquartz tubes a and b,sublimation temperature of S,nozzle diameter of quartz tube b and time of heat treatment were studied.The results shown that IF-MoS2 nanoparticles obtained are almost pure ,when nozzle diameter of quartz tube b is 0.2cm,distance forefront of S and furnace hole is 0.3cm,reaction temperature is 850℃,the flow rates of quartz a and b are 90ml/min and 130ml/min respective,the time of heat preservation is lh.Products are consisted of IF-MoS2 nanoparticles and nanotubes with open ends, while MoO3 powders put on quartz boat I is spreadable instead of piled, other experimental parameter maintenance, were synthesized.Synthesization of IF-MoS2 nanoparticles and nanotubes was studied by laboratories. The results shown that MoO3 nanoparticles and S occured reduction-sulfidizationreaction leads to the formation of IF-M0S2 nanoparticles and nanotubes.lt is belived that the synergy between the reduction and sulfidization processes provides the condition for IF nanoparticles and nanotubes in a certain range of experimental parameters.Reduction or sulfidization reaction predominate ,because of reaction temperature or the flow rate is imappropriate, leads to the formation of layered 2H- M0S2.Simultantously,a stepwise reaction model and newly growth mechanism of M0S2 nanotubes with open ends are proposed based on the experimental results and reference literature.
