According to US EPA method, A GC/MS/MS method was exploited to detect 7 kinds of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and 13 kinds of organochlorinated pesticides (OCPs). A series of matrix-spiked experiments that presented ideal recoveries (64.96%-l19.39%) and MDL (pg level) was also carried out. The recoveries meet the recovery request, of EPA (50%-150%).This method was used to detect concentrations of PCBs and OCPs in the soil samples from different altitudes in the national nature reserve of Wolong, Sichuan collected in spring and autumn seasons. The concentrations of PCBs , HCH, HCB and DDT were 0.05-1.14ng/, 0.00-75.00ng/g, 6.30-28.41ng, 0.42-2.73ng/g respectively in autumn samples and 0.0l-0.24ng/g, 0.01-3.21ng/, 0-21.46ng/g, 1.23-8.88ng/g respectively in spring samples. The pollution level is low except for HCB.In comparison with the concentration and altitude, the mountain's cold condensation effects of HCB and HCH are easier to reveal. The decline of POPs towards the high latitudes and altitudes, which are low temperature areas, are testified again. The results showed that the a/γ-HCH ratio was medium and relatively steady and closed to that of Chengdu Plain, which was attributed to the contribution of long-range transport (LRT) of these pollutants. Contribution of ongoing use of γ-HCH was little.
