In order to survive and develop under the fierce global marketcompetition and to meet the demand of the market, the virtualmanufacturing (VM) emerges as the times require accompany with Themanufacturing industry technology, And the VM technology develop withthe development of the computer science, especially the informationprocess technology.Virtual machining process simulation is a key basictechnology for virtual manufacturing, and takes an important part init. It predicts and optimizes effectively to all kinds of machininginformation in process system which is composed of machine tools,workpiece, tools and jigs, so that it can help to realize theintelligent machining of the real machining process. Furthermore, itis a fundamental way to deep research the machining process. Virtualmachining simulationis mainly includes two parts, geometry simulationand physical simulation. The research on physical simulation is notin-depth deeply due to the complexity of the cuttingmechanism and thedifficulty in modeling. But the consideration of physical factors andprediction in cutting quality is necessary and important on virtualmanufacturing research.The paper particularly discusses the actuality and significance ofstudy on the Virtual Manufacturing (VM) technology, and NumericalControl (NC) machining simulation system with use of VM technology isresearched. The framework of system,NC machining graphic simulationsystem,the milling force modeling and the forecast and analyses ofchatter are involved in this paper.Based on the function require for the VM,the paper adopts ObjectOriented Programming (OOP) technology in NC machining simulationsystem and develop the VM technology theory. To the graphic simulatingsystem research and implement, the paper gives a new way of havingvirtue disperse-vector method and image-space method, and simulationresults indicate that this way is effect. The milling model is present,and flow chart of the force's arithmetic and example of simulation isalso given. These can display high quality realistic picture isexecuted under the driving of NC code, and simulation result can bereceived as the same as real machining. The paper gives the errorforecast and analyses of chatter model, and it can reflect the reality.Because numerical control process simulation system use the backgroundknowledge involving CAD/CAM basic theory, three-dimensional modeling,the measure to collide to interfere, and virtual manufacturing etc.Itis the multi-disciplinary and multi-field knowledge that issynthesized and integrated, and the workload is enormous, and if youwant to get a comparatively ripe software system which is easy to bepopularized,you need to make untiring efforts.In line with from simpleto complicated principle, this text researchs the key technology ofnumerical control process simulation, and it's concrete contentinvolves the following respects:1. The real time graphic display technology in the simulation systemIn order to increase and process the artificial sense of reality, aseries of problems needs to be solved.At first,design a good beautifulthree-dimensional scene;Second,provide the convenient mutuality;Third, realize watching the processes course of the artificial systemform any angles;Forth,offer a reasonable arithmetic to realize the wipeoff the material of the workpiece and the shape of the workpiece aftermachining.The modeling method of the three-dimensional geometry model isresearched through the OpenGL programe on the MFC platform.theartificial sense of reality of three-dimensional model and themutuality between the three-dimensional model and the user arerealized.2. The Bool operation and the check-up of the collision and theinterferenceAccording to the research of the bool operation, thethree-dimension bool operation is translated to the two-dimension booloperation.The dynamic real-time simulation of the wipping off thematerial is realized.The check-up of the interference and collision is an important stepfor realizing the numerical control simulation and to validate the NCprogram,On the base of the deeply study of the technique,the arithmeticis given according the characteristic of this system.3. The modeling of the milling force and the research of the chatterThe physic simulation is an important part of this simulationsystem, this text takes the milling force as object, the milling forcemodel changing with the cut angle is set up, the arithmetic is alsogiven.Considering the great influence of chatter to the real machiningcourse, the chatter and the regeneration chatter model are researched.This text tries to set a value and to predict the chatter.The sufficient research on the VM technology is able to make itreal applicable in production. And the success of its application helpsto make the manufacturing technology go out the narrow scope and enterthe stage of prediction all-round.
