Harmonic Filtering And Reactive Power Compensation Of Cold Rolling Mills

Cold rolling steel plate is widely used in modern society, the DC motor of the production line is supplied by the thyristor- rectifier, so the cold rolling mill is a typical harmonic source. Harmonics are produced and a lot of reactive power is consumed when it is working, it results in the heavy pollution of power system. Many kinds of harmonic filtering and reactive power compensation methods are contrasted in the paper. A method of thyristor-switched filters is used in the project of the factory. The equipments are installed, and the results proved the efficiency of the method. The power factor is improved and the harmonics is limited under the national standard. And the equipment has the function of perfect control and protection and easy maintenance.
