| The tobacco impurity being removed intelligent system is a comprehensive precise system of mechanical, electric and optical auto-detection which is designed and realized by applying optical, electric, mechanic, computer, image processing, network communication technology. It is applied broadly to high-speed auto product line in many industries such as tobacco, plastic, pharmacy and food, and it could be able to detect and remove metallic and non-metallic impurities from product materials, which ensure product quality, debase the product cost, decrease the wear of manufacturing equipment. It has the high-speed, efficient, precise character. Its usage has greatly enhanced the degree of automation of product line, debased the labor intensity, and improved the work environment. Therefore, this system has the broad application prospect.The research of sorter system discussed in this paper is now applied in tobacco industry to remove the impurities from tobacco. First, the necessity, feasibility and utility for this system research are introduced, and the apprehensive design idea is depicted. Also, the basic work principle of the system and the design of all sub-system are detailed explained. Additionally, introduce the process of image obtained by computer, and deeply discuss the building of standard tobacco color sheet and idea of impurity identification and programming. By analyzing the requirement of software function, mark off respective function model and introduce the method of design of main function model. To satisfy the system's real-time need, several key technologies are deeply researched. Finally, introduce the remote control applied in this paper, and emphasize on its design and realization of reliability and robustcity. Several local computers are controlled by a main computer, which could save hardware resources and improve work environment. According to output enterprise required, the number of local computer can be increased in the system.
