The application of dual beam laser welding of different thickness blanks in automobile manufacture leads to decreases vehicle weight and reduces manufacturing costs effectively. In order to improve the gap adaptability and welding quality of laser welding, dual beam laser welding of different thickness blanks is a good choice. After perusing lots of literature and according to results of experimentation, the temperature field and the distribution of stress and distortion were analyzed by means of finite element method is studied in this paper.Firstly,Based on the comprehensive analyses of heat transfer behavior in laser deep-penetration welding, the mechanical behavior of different thickness blanks in dual beam laser welding were investigated. It is found that when the laser beam distance is 0.6mm, there are two keyhole in one weld pool during a dual beam laser welding process. And the two keyhole converge in the surface. At the same time, one common plume generates and the diameter of the plume root is about 1-2mm. So in this paper the plasma plume on the surface weld pool was molded by a Gaussian distribute surface heat source and the heat transfer in the keyhole was simulated by two column heat source. In the model, the convection and radiation effect, the latent heat of phase transformation, temperature dependence of thermal-physical properties was considered. . According to the assumption and predigest, the finite element model for the temperature field calculation was developed.Based on the board surfacing by FEM soft ANSYS,compile APDL program to apply load of moving heat source, so The temperature fields of the dual beam laser welding different blanks was investigated and the simulation results has a good agreement with the experimental result. On the basis of investigating the relation of weld to stamping, the width of weld in different welding parameters was calculated and the theory of the effect of the heat source was analyzed. The optimum welding parameters was given, so it will be give a theoretical guidance for tailor blanks welding.The mathematics model of the different thickness blanks in dual laser...
