Phase equilibria in the Co-Pr-Sb ternary system at 500°C have been studied mainly by means of X-ray powder diffraction (powder XRD), with the aid of differential thermal analysis (DTA), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) with energy dispersive analysis. The existence of 16 binary compounds and one ternary compound was confirmed: Co17Pr2, Co5Pr, Co7Pr2, Co3Pr, Co2Pr, Co3Pr4, Co2Pr5, CoPr3, Pr2Sb, Pr5Sb3, Pr4Sb3, PrSb, PrSb2, CoSb, CoSb2, CoSb3 and CoPrSb2; The compound Co19Pr5 was not observed in binary or ternary alloys at 500°C. This isothermal section consists of 22 single-phase regions, 44 two-phase regions and 23 three-phase regions.22 single-phase regions are: α(Co), β(Co17Pr2), γ(Co5Pr), δ(Co7Pr2), ε(Co3Pr), ζ(Co2Pr), η(Co3Pr4), θ(Co2Pr5), ι(CoPr3), κ(Pr), λ(Pr2Sb), μ(Pr5Sb3), Ï…(Pr4Sb3), Ï€(PrSb), Ï(PrSb2), σ(Sb), Ï„(CoSb3), Ï…(CoSb2), ω(CoSb), φ(CoPrSb2), χ(CoPrSb3), ψ(CoPr5Sb2).44 two-phase regions are: α+β, β+γ, γ+δ, δ+ε, ε+ζ,ζ+η, η+θ, θ+ι,ι+κ, κ+λ, λ+μ, μ+Ï…, Ï…+Ï€, Ï€+Ï ,Ï+σ, σ+Ï„, Ï„+Ï… , Ï…+ω, ω+α, Ï„+Ï, Ï„+χ,Ï+χ, χ+φ, Ï„+φ φ+Ï, Ï…+φ, ω+φ, Ï€+φ, φ+α, α+Ï€, β+Ï€, γ+Ï€, γ+Ï…, δ+Ï…, ε+Ï…, ε+μ, ζ+μ, ψ+μ, ζ+ψ, η+ψ, θ+ψ, ι+ψ, β+ψ, ψ+λ. |
