Forging hammer is a forging equipment which is widely used in the fields of machinery, metallurgy, mining, car, ship, daily electric device and instrument etc. It has many advantages such as simple in structure, low in price, strong in process adaptability. But it could generate severe vibration while it is running. The analysis indicates that about 70% of the work of the forging hammer will be cost in both the plastic distortion of the forge piece and the elastic distortion of the loaded parts of the forging hammer, and about 30% of the work will be cost in the knocking on of the hammer head and the hammering block at the end of the forging when the forging hammer on which the hammering block is installed in traditional method. Most of the energy will directly work on the concrete foundation of the forging hammer and make the hammer base vibrate and the vibration will be diffuse to the environment through the earth. This will severely disturb the running of the instrument and the equipment around and will reduce the stability and life time of the construction structure of the workshop. This will worsen the working condition of the workshop and harm the health of the worker. To solve this problem, we have studied and designed the shell form damping foundation of the hammer by using the advanced finite element method.Firstly, we put forward a method for the design and calculation of the shell form foundation according to the finite element technology, which based on the study of the calculating method of the shell form foundation. Then, we programmed a source program of finite element.Based on this mentioned above, we designed a axial symmetry shell form foundation for a hydraulic hammer of 2.5 ton.m by using the finite element method, which is composed of a cylinder and a inverse shell ball. It has good damping effect after it is put into use.It is understood through the vibrating measuring of the block form...
