The healthy and sustainable development of coal industry is badly menaced by gas explosion one of the nature factors that influence industrial security in mine all the while. Many achievements on gas explosion controlling have been got at domestic and foreign, but there are only a few researches on the technique that can completely stop the gas explosion whether all three-explosion elements have been in existence at the same time. The first question we should face during the process of carrying out this technique is to find out some controlling material which can control gas explosion availably and is economical and environmental. So it is important to find out those materials and carry out the new technique.Superfine spray is used as the main body of water-depressant for its characteristic such as high decalescence-efficiency and strong effect of obstructing radiant heat. NaHC03, NaCl and KCl are used as additive of water-depressant. Then based on the small-sized experimental installation, the experiment of gas explosion under superfine spray is done. Approximate 9.5% volume concentration of CH4 is used as gas, and fresh water, NaHCO3 solution, NaCl solution and KCl solution are turned to fog during experiment. The influence of superfine spray on flame propagation and induction period during gas explosion is opened out through analyzing the experiment result. It indicates that induction period of gas explosion is prolonged; the average and maximum rate of flame propagation are both reduced evidently after superfine spray being mixed with the gas. Moreover, flame residence arises for superfine spray weakening the energy of flame propagation. It shows that superfine spray can control propagation of gas explosion in a certain extent. And the superfine spray that is made from NaHCO3 solution, NaCl solution and KCl solution is better than fresh water in controlling gas explosion.The result of this experiment can be tooken as important reference during exploiting the...
