Resources now increasingly tense, coal is China's main energy source, how to protect and efficient utility was very impossible. The old management methods couldn't Meet needs for this developing trend, the establish of information system can help for increasing the efficiency and accuracy.The scope of coal fire located in Rujigou coalfield in Ningxia was spreading very rapidly, hugely wasted the coal resources and harmed the ecological environment. Rapidly surveying the scope of coal fire, working out the effective plan, analyzing the effect of coal fire regulation are inevitable.First we analysis the status of coal fire geographical information system research, and deeply think over the technology validity of establishing the coal fire GIS system, depending on the user needs and data characteristics, we select ARCVIEW software as developing platform, then work out the rational system design. Directed to the user interested region, we developed the border extract function for worm abnormity. Finally we particularly expatiated the arithmetic characteristic and modeling superiority.
