Magnesium alloy is one of the lightest metals that being used as structure material. Magnesium alloy; have many outstanding merits, such as good oscillation damping performance, fine electromagnetic shielding, convenient for reclamation, and so on. It is widely used in national economy fields, such as vehicles, electronic industries and aerospace etc, and in the recently years, the worldwide consumption quantity of magnesium alloy trends to increase constantly. Magnesium alloy strip is a product that is demanded urgently. However the feature of its crystallography, which limits the development and application of magnesium alloy seriously. So exploiture of a new magnesium alloy strip forming process with higher utilization, higher productivity, attractive mechanical properties is put forward. In order to produce magnesium alloy strip, experimental research work was carried out on near net twin-roll thin strip castor and semi-solid slurry making apparatus. By using the features of rapid solidification and dynamic direct forming of twin-roll strip casting process, the magnesium alloy strip was directly made from its molten state material. So the problem of magnesium alloy strip forming was solved and the process was simplified extremely. And semi-solid slurry making technology can refine grains, the fine semi-solid non-dendrite microstructure was achieved. As well as, semi-solid slurry with fine flow performance is favorable for the forming of strip. The main work about the paper is as follows:1. The studying object is AZ91D magnesium alloy, the AZ91D semi-solid magnesium alloy strip roll-casting process is analyzed, And we achieved the semi-solid magnesium alloy strip whose microstructure is fine and the shape is nice.2. The semi-solid slurry making technology is obtained. In the experiment, mechanical stirring methods was employed to obtain the semi-solid slurry. The result shows the fine semi-solid non-dendrite microstructure is achieved by mechanical stirring methods.3. It is described detailedly that the effect of technics factors on the...
