Sugar-containing polymers mean that through different responses to lead to sugar polymer molecular chain group and to form macromolecular polymers. Sucrose-based polymer (SBP) is the one of them. This dissertation focuses on a new method to synthesize sucrose-based polymer (SBP) — pre-irradiation method. Sucrose crystal was pre-irradiated by γ-ray of 60Co and turned into an activated form, then the activated sucrose was polymerizes directly with another monomer (e.g. acrylic acid) to yield SBP.Preliminary study on enzymatic synthesis of polymerisable vinyl sugar esters in non-aqueous media and preparation of polymers containing sugar branches.The effects of different monomers, pre-irradiation dose, store days of pre-irradiation sucrose, reaction temperature, monomer concentration ratio to the relative molecular weight and yield of the polymers were studied.
