The growth discipline and enzyme production of thermophilic bacteria Thmus ruber (CCM4212)were studied, and as an important, the effect of removing the maize dipping water's CODcr in different conditions and its growth kinetics were studied in this paper.It's ascertained a gram-negative bacterium through gram-dyeing. The optimal growth temperature and pH range of the bacteria are 50℃-70℃ and 7-9, respectively, the highest biomass achieved under the rotate shaker speed 200 r · min-1 the inoculation amount is 10%. After 2 hours culture, the bacterium get a post exponential growth phase. The stationary phase of the bacteria don't exist apparently.Starch and Casein analyze experiment of the bacteria shows positive. After 12 hours culture, the a-amylase and protease activity are 179U/mL and 1.2U/mL, respectively, and couldn't produce lipase.Utilizing this bacteria processing maize dipping water both at rotate shaker and fermentor . after diluted 10 times, when the original CODCr is about 3000 mg·L-1 .the highest CODcr removal can achieved at the rotate shaker speed 200 r · min-1, the inoculation amount 10%, It's 51.6%. when it turns to the fermentor, the highest CODcr removal can achieve at aeration 60 L·h-1 and the stirrer rotate rate 300·min-1 it's 82.5%.Utilizing the thermopile treating maize dipping water at 5 different DO level. When the original CODcr is about 3000 mg·L-1, the CODcr removal are 58.5%-74.5%. shows that the bacteria can accommodate itself to different DO level.The kinetics study of thermophilic aerobic waste water biological treatment shows that. The bacteria have rapid growth rate and waste water treating rate. The kinetics parameters specific growth rate μmax, the Monod constant Kg, germ obtained rate Yx/s, and sustained constant m respectively are: 0.54h-1 2.0 g·L-1 0.16gg-1 0.40day-1.
