Zinc oxide in nano-size is a novel kind of functional material, which can be extensively used for a variety of applications in magnetic, optical, electrical and other fields. Nowadays, there are many methods to prepare the zinc oxide. As for the preparing process, it can be divided into one-step method and two-step method. In two-step method, the raw materials and the preparing conditions will lead to the different kinds of precursors. The performance of the precursors and the process conditions in the second-step reaction will eventually have a great effect on the morphology, crystalline structure and the performance of the zinc oxide. The novel and simple two-step method was used in this thesis to prepare the zinc oxide films. The zinc acetate was the starting material, alcohol was the solvent and DEA was the stabilizer. The zinc oxide seed layer as the precursor was prepared in sol-gel method. Then ZnCl2,HMTA,ammonia was used to synthesize the zinc oxide films in chemical solution deposition method. By means of the SEM, XRD and UV-VIS,the process conditions and factors were optimized. On the basis of it, the zinc oxide/dye hybrid films were also prepared.The results of the experiments show that the substrates (glass or ITO) which were pre-coated will lead to the production of the zinc oxide. In the reactant systems, ammonia acts as a positive function, and the excessive amount of HMTA can not take the place of its function. The deposition temperature and the deposition time will influence the uniform degree and the crystalline of the films, while the latter one will also affect the length of the nanorods. In the second-step systems, the morphology and the crystalline structure of the zinc oxide films were influenced by the concentration of Cl- instead of that of Zn2+.During the process of preparing the zinc oxide/dye hybrid films, we found that the concentration of ZnCl2 will have great effect on the uniform degree of the films Meanwhile, the morphology and the crystalline structure of the hybrid films wereextensively influenced by the deposition time and the concentration of the dye.
