As a kind of industrial waste residue, the fly ash was a sort of byproduct coming from burning coal power plant. It was also a kind of good cementitious material with latent hydrating characteristics. But it only put up its hydrating characteristics when it was activated. Now, there were two primary ways to activate the fly ash: chemical activation and mechanical activation. Generally, it was consider that mechanical activation was a physical process.Recently, the mechano-chemistry drew attentions of much more researchers. It was already proved that the mechanical crushing, especially the super-fine crushing was not a simple physical process, but a kind of complicated physical-chemical process. The mechano-chemistry was the science on the change of solid status, crystalline structure and physical-chemical changes by mechanical force.In this paper, according to the mechano-chemistry theory. Pulverisette 4 plenary high-energy ball mill was used to treat the dry-discharging fly ash. The mechano-chemistry effect and its influence to the microstructure and the hydrating characteristics and thermal property of fly ash and setting pearl were studied during the high-energy ball milling process. The research had practical value to improve the application level.One of the contents studied in this paper is the mechano-chemistry changes of the fly ash and token it by a series of analysis and testing. The particle size is tested by NSCK-1A, and the testing results indicate the granule is diminished speedily during the initial stages of the comminution, when they are ground for period of time, the apparent granularity become wide for the agglomeration between them, with the more prolong of the grinding time, the particle size changes hardly and reach the grinding balance; The changes of the density for the fly ash and setting pearl powders are tested. The results indicate that with the prolong of the grinding time, the crystal grain size incessantly diminishs and the amorphism on the surface of the grain, the amorphous layer become thicker gradually, and they lead to the density declining, but...
