Study Of Treating Beer Wastewater Using Aerobic Granular Sludge Inoculated Anaerobic Granular Sludge

The research about aerobic granular sludge mainly comes from the granulation of anaerobic sludge, recently the researcher have been cognizant of the aerobic sludge granulation because of the microbial self-immobilization. This paper cultivated the aerobic granular sludge in the SBR reactors which is inoculated anaerobic granular sludge using synthetic Wastewater. The SBR reactor succeeded in cultivation of the aerobic granular after the reactors operated 45d by controlling the COD organic load, hydraulic retention time (HRT) and superficial upflow air velocity.Mature granular sludge is cultivated when COD organic load is 3.95～4.06 kg/(m³Â· d), superficial upflow air velocity is 0.0218m/s, HRT is 6h.The SBR reactor's biological degradation ability variety in the process was studied by monitoring the COD, TN, and TP of the effluent.The specific gravity of the aerobic granular sludge was 1.006, water content of granular sludge is 97.2%, the SOUR of the aerobic granular sludge is19.00 gO₂kgMLSS^-1h^-1. The aerobic granular sludge's structure is very compactness.The detail microstructure of the aerobic granular sludge ware examined using SEM. The aerobic granular sludge consists of round-like and rod-like species, the diameter of the round-like is 0.6～0.9μm. the length and the diameter of the rod-like species is 1.8～2.4 μm and 1μm respectively.The beer Wastewater which COD is 2000mg/L is treated by aerobic granular sludge, the COD of effluent is below 150mg/L, the removal rate is 91%; the TN of effluent is below 10mg/L, the removal rate is 84%; the TP of effluent is2 mg/L, the removal rate sis 86%.
