Ethanol is an important chemical that has been widely used in various areas. As an additive in gasoline, it has been regarded as a clean and regenerative fuel for relieving the serious city pollution. Many countries have begun to take the ethanol industry into their calendars. But resulting from the low efficiency and high energy- consuming of the traditional ethanol fermentation technology, the price of ethanol is much higher than that of petroleum, which has greatly held back the development of ethanol industry. This paper has studied the affection of glucose concentration, ethanol concentration, and the sort and the flux of the gas to the fermentation. The appropriate conditions for the fermentation were given out. And a new kinetics equation about the inhibition of ethanol was established, which could predict the threshold of the inhibition of ethanol and its intensity. The core of this paper is about the coupling process for in situ ethanol removal, which couples up vacuum flash fermentation and gas stripping fermentation with the technology of circulation of dissociative cell. The experiment indicates that the coupling process can improve the ethanol productivity by enhancing the in situ ethanol removal during the fermentation process and reduce the cost.
