Nickel-dithiene complexes are a kind of near infrared dyes which have very important application in the laser protection,electron photography, optical recording and so on.Three nickel-dithiene complexes were successfully synthesized in this dissertation. Their structures were characterized by the Infrared Spectrum and HMR Spectrum. And the near infrared absorption performance were tested by the Ultraviolet-Visible-Near Infrared Spectrum device. The results revealed that three compounds showed strong absorbency in the range of 800-1000nm wavelength, the maximum absorption wavelength of alkoxyl substitution nickel-dithiene complexes led to red shift about 60-80nm than others which did not have the substituting groups. The maximum absorption wavelength of these complexes was also different in different polar solvents. The wavelength led to red shift with the stronger polarity of solvent. The TG analysis showed three compounds had good thermo-stability. The solubility measurement indicated they had good solubility in general solvent. Obviously this kind of nickel-dithiene complexes had the huge application potential.
