With the rapid economic development and increasingly intensive human activities, the interior configuration, functional organization and ecosystem health of the wetlands, an important part of the ecosystem, are suffering extent influences. The bay wetland is a part of the wetlands, which lays on the combination area of the esturary and the ocean. It's usually an area with a comparatively better economy, frequent human activities and high intensive disturbance. Then its entironment, interior configuration and function organization are greatly influenced by the upstream drainage areas. The ecosystem health of the bay wetlands is greatly threatened. In order to protect the ecosystem of the bay wetlands and harmony the development of the entironment, society and economics, it is very important to pay attention to the researches on the bay wetlands ecosystem health.Basing on the studies on wetlands ecosystem health status home and abroad, the paper proposed a quantitative analysis method for the bay wetlands ecosystem health evaluation by an index system including the index of bay wetlands element health, the bay wetlands function health and the bay wetlands human health. Taking JiuDuanSha bay wetlands as an example, this paper developed a wetlands ecosystem health evaluation information system using GIS technique and mathematics analysis method. A spatial information system of the bay wetlands ecosystem health basing on the WebGIS technique is also develped.The paper firstly illustrates the conception of the wetlands ecosystem healthand analyses the research status and existent problems of wetlands ecosystem health about home and abroad. Secondly, it introduces the relative GIS key theory and technique, and then makes the research on evaluation methods and models. Thirdly, the paper designs the GIS system of bay wetlands ecosystem and the spatial information issue system basing on the WebGIS technique, and then evaluates the ecosystem health of the Jiuduansha bayou wetlands. Finally, the conclusion and the orientation of research for future are discussed.
