As the economy developing in a high speed, environmental problem become more and more important in our country. And soot is one of the main kinds of air pollutants because coal is our main energy source. With people realizing the important of environment protection, bag filter is been used and studied far and wide.In the field of bag filter research, it is always the focus question to decrease the pressure drop and increase the filtration efficiency. Guarantee of the filtration efficiency is necessary for a bag filter project, and the pressure drop is closely related with the cost, such as energy consumption, equipment loss. For many years research and experience, people get some laws about filtration efficiency and pressure drop.Inside the bag filter, the gas flow impact the efficiency and pressure. As the fluid is in the section with complex boundary figure, the measure for it is very hard. In addition, due to the limitation of physical model test, the experiment can only afford the parameter for whole flow, while the numerical simulation can offer the detailed information for correlative flow. Because of these strongpoints in numerical simulation, it has become an effective means for fluid dynamics, In this paper, numerical simulation about velocity field and pressure field of gas flow in bag filter will be done assisted by Fluent, one of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) softwares. According to the simulation result, these is a jet airstream displayed close to the inlet. And it impact the bottom of several bag strongly. It also make the gas flow velocity distributing asymmetrically, further more, cause the pressure drop increased. In order to reduce the impact on the bottom of the bag, improve the flow distributing and lower the pressure drop, the author use airflow-distribution plate, flow guide plate and increase the inlet area.
