The life of brazing diamond tools improves greatly because of the low pull-out rate of abrasive grains in machining, which due to the interface metallurgical bonding among diamond, solder and substrate.The strong bonding force could be obtained in Ni-Cr alloy brazing diamond tools which are exploited by our team.Because of diamonds'characteristic,they would subject to thermal damage in the process of brazing.The thermal damage refers to the diamonds'graphitizing,fracture,inner micro-fracture and chemical erosion coursed by the brazing alloy,etc. If the grains subject to thermal damage in the process of brazing, their performance will decend and the tools'life will cut down. Based on the existed brazing technology, in order to analysis the diamonds'performance in different brazing technology, this paper did experimental research in two aspects, not only measured the diamonds'strengh, but also analysised diamonds'wear-resisting property. The diamond core-drills were made, the experimental results of diamonds'wear-resisiting property was verified by drilling experiments, and we got new viewpoints of the optimization of brazing technology to controll thermal damage. The main work in this paper is as follows:1. The static pressure strength and the shock strength of diamonds, involved the original, brazed and heat treated diamonds, were measured, and the difference among the strengths were analysised.2. The experimental system of diamonds'wear-resisting property was developed, which involved the establishment of experimental scheme, the preparation of diamond wearing samples, the selection of work material, the calculation of wearing parameters, etc.3. The wear-resisting property of diamonds was analysised by measuring the diamonds'wearing capacity and the cast iron'removal, and the wear-resisiting property curves of diamonds were drawed. The diamonds'classical wear patterns were analysised in the grinding process.4. The diamond core-drills were made by both electro-plating and brazing technology, tool's life and grains'wear patterns were analysised.
