The explosion of combustible gas is one of the main accidents that threaten people's production and living. Therefore, it is very necessary to prevent the hazard of explosion that exactly master the explosion principle, establish corresponding experimental facility and study the explosion characteristic.Combustible liquid vapor exploding pertains to the category of combustible gas exploding. So the developing status of home and overseas study on gas explode is summed up in this paper. And the theory and characteristic of gas explode is diScussed. Then using thought of safety project the main body and pipeline of combustible liquid vapor explode characteristic test apparatus are designed. Especially the mixing mode of combustible liquid and air is studied. In this paper, the mixing mode is like this: the combustible liquid isheated up to boiling point. After that vapor is injected to exploding room and then to mixing nuzzling. On the design of injector, the widely popular Sokolov liquid-liquid injector design method is applied in this paper and size of injector nozzle, size of mixing chamber and length of diffuser chamber are designed. Also mixing nozzle is designed and the asymmetrical problem of combustible liquid vapor and air mixing is resolved commendably. At the same time the hot air producing apparatus is worked out. Applying the heat transfer theory the length of snaky heating pipe is decided and the heating cabinet is machined. This ensures that air is heated up to the needed temperature from room temperature.The main shape and size of the test apparatus is decided when assuring its security. And then thickness of canister cliff, head, flange connecting and compensation of observation hole hatch are calculated and intensity checking in detail. Stainless steel welding is chose as electrode material according to the characteristic of metal material. And the clearance between electrodes is designed at fixed 2mm. In this way not only the measured ignition data is the least and most credibility but also it is convenient to pressurize better. Disposal of chrome plating is done in the exploding canister inside cliff in order to avoid rustiness.The length of snaky heating pipe is decided and the heating cabinet is machined. This ensures that air is heated up to the needed temperature from room temperature. These designs are grounds of the second mixing at mixed muzzle. At the meantime optimum design to mixing muzzle is proceeded and the asymmetrical problem of intrinsic equipment of gas or steam mixing is resolved commendably.The explosion apparatus designed in this paper has been tested by hydraulic pressure checking experiment after machined and shaped. It proves, that the performance of pressure-bearing and pressurizing of this test apparatus is excellent. Also, this test apparatus is proved to be reasonable and can meet the needs of the experiment according to testing the explosion limits of C2H5OH, (CH3)2CO, H2.
