In this paper, the concept and the current researching situation of MEMS (Micro-electro-mechanical System) are introduced. The method and the current researching situation of Electric Discharge Contour Evolution Machining are also introduced. Making use of the commercial EDM machine doing the micro contour evolution machining is brought forward, and the advantages of the commercial EDM machine in the micro contour evolution machining field are analyzed.In order to validate the feasibility of it, lots of experiments about the technology of the micro contour evolution machining are done. The influences for the electrode wear, the machining velocity, machining precision and surface quality are analyzed by setting the parameters, tool rotating speed and machining depth.The paper analyzes the electrode ware theory for line and arc contour, and calculates the electrode path of compensation. Furthermore, the electrode ware theory for Z-axis and the compensation of electrode ware are expanded. Combining the experiments of the cavity and letter machining, the paper introduces the interpolating machining, the delaminating machining and the NC programming.At the end of this paper, the principle of ruled surface is introduced. And a simulate blade is made successfully.In the end, the paper is summarized, and the later studies of the micro contour evolution machining by the commercial EDM machine are suggested.
