Research On WEDM Pulse Power Supply Based On ISA Bus

WEDM (Wire Cut Electric Discharge Machining) pulse power supply can transform alternating current into unilateralism pulse current with specific frequency, which supplies energy for removing metal at the discharge clearance. WEDM pulse power supply is the key device that decides discharge machining technics effect. Its capability direct touches machining speed, precision, stability and machining electrode wastage degree, and a product updates symbol. Automation and intelligent machining are important development trend of WEDM. But the former power supply isn't convenient in adjusting electrical parameter. Therefore, in this thesis, the former pulse power supplies are improved on, for automation machining. At last a discharge state measure card is designed.First of all, this thesis narrates the development condition and tendency of WEDM pulse power supply. And then some power supplies merit and defect are briefly introduced. Interleaving double transistor forward DC/DC convertor is chosen based on this analysis. Later we narrate discharge state measure methods and analyses these methods. According to the analysis, delay pierce method is chosen.Interleaving double transistor forward DC/DC convertor is the key of power supply structure design. In this thesis, design process is analyzed in detail, and relevant design parameters are given. Pulse signal generator by master computer controlling is designed based on this power supply structure. The electrical parameters are chosen in electrical database or setup by users. The master computer sends the parameters to SCM on the slaver computer by ISA bus. SCM setup 8253 registers and the 8253 generates pulse signal to discharge machining. At last, a discharge state measure card is designed based on discharge character. The master computer collects discharge state signal by Measurement Studio control, then real time displays the state. The corresponding intelligent machining system adjusts electrical parameter real time in terms of the state signal, for the best machining effect.
