This research take the wetland in the western region of Inner Mongolia as research object, base on outside investigate of foundation ascend, making use of the TM image data in 1991and ETM+ image data in 2002 of research area , combining related special subject data and statisticsing data, building up the wetland classification system of studying area , eyes seeing a solution to translate between human and computer, withdrawing the remote sensing information,then making use of"3S" technique to combine together and the dynamic monitor method of classification comparative to statistics the wetland character information, combining the related dynamic variety model of wetland, point outting the total change trend of wetland in the western region of Inner Mongolia , analyzing the predominance driving factors that influence the wetland dynamic variety in the western region of Inner Mongolia . The main conclusion of this study were summed up as follows: l)During the year of 1991 to 2002,the number of wetland patches totally decreased 846 pieces from 3028 to 2182 and the area of wetlands decreased,it decreased 857.78 hm during these 11 years and the rate of decreasing is 29.30 percent, the patch reduce 70 pieces and the area reduce 78hm average annually.2) The wetland landscape inside the western region in Inner Mongolia appeared different degree of broken up under the faction of natural and artificial factors, it become less and less stable; the influence factor dissimilarity,the change speed different;the wetland gradually to become degeneration, the degenerate type of wetland turn to have control position and the salt alkali turns to aggravate, the whole wetland of study area be placed in the decline period. 3)The dynamic monitor of wetland in the west of Inner Mongolia is the result that owing to effect of natural and contrived factors.The function mode,range and intensity that lead to the monitor of wetland are differ if the factor is dissimilutite;of course, the type of wetland are differ, the mainly factors that lead to dynamic monitor are different.Make use of the remote sensing technique to carry on the dynamic monitor to this research area, it is possible to control and study the wetland change process in the western region of Inner Mongolia in time and accurately, for reasonable exploitation and protection the wetlands resourses, it is important to investigate and monitor the wetland resources in the western region of Inner Mongolia.
