In the steam soak exploitation phase, with time extension and strata pressure drop, steam channeling phenomena becomes serious. How to prevent steam escape, ensure exploitating wells effectively and improve the recovery of fault block oil reservoir becomes an important topic of oilfield production. From production reality, this artical sums up the rule of steam channeling, analyses the case and essence of steam channeling. According to the present situation and field express of Jin-45 block's steam breakthrough, the author uses many methods to regulate Jin-45 block synthetically, such as injecting steam to one well among many production wells, regional steam injection, intermittent steam injection and so on. This article regards injection and extraction with multi-wells and alternation of oil well injection as two effective methods to prevent steam breakthough. Our viewpoints should be changed to alter preventing to use steam breakthrough effectively. The conclusion of this article supplies some experience of enhancing development effect of block field and preventing steam channeling.
