This thesis mainly concentrates on the Industrial Design and practicing methods of the power tools that just for China DIY market. Through not only the analysis of the global power tool markets, but also the Industrial Design guideline and the marketing strategy of power tools companies, figured out the main aspects of ID and methods of Chinese consumer power tools. Solid engineering, style, ergonomics and safety must be forged together when designing power tools. This thesis mainly discussed about the innovation & renovation, ergonomics and green design etc. and also some methods like observation, marketing researching etc.Usually, power tools face tough tasks and the performance should be very well; designing them is a tough task, too. Bad design products actually can hurt the use, and they won't be accepted by the markets; good power tool design is not only a method to satisfy the user but also an absolutely necessity to have the brand survive and grow up. Each one of above 4 aspects is the key point of power tools design. They are really conflict and that makes the task of power tool design so challenging. Anyway, all these must be well melded together while designing. This paper will expatiate on the following factors of power tools industrial design.
