An Investigation On The Pretreatment Process Of Linen Fabric

On the basis of reviewing the characteristics of linen and its fabric and the problemspresent in the linen pretreatment, an investigation on the linen pretreatment was putforward. The practical production situation and the systematical experiments in thelaboratory being taking into consideration, the principles and testing results about desizing,scouting, mercerization and bleaching were emphatically discussed, and the procedure andtechnical parameters suitable for practical production were given.Firstly, the influence of all kinds of factors on amylase desizing was discussed. Theoptimized amylase desizing technology was fixed by having a comparison with thetraditional alkali desizing technology. The amylase desizing technology can take place ofthe alkali desizing technology, and as a result, the complex process and serious pollutionproblems caused by alkali desizing can be solved. At the mean time, the desizing of linencan be well performed in a more environmental way. The technical process: fabric→padding in warm water→padding in the amylase solution (55℃)→batching at constanttemperature of 30℃for 3 to 4 hours→washing in hot water→washing in cold water→drying.Secondly, through the comparative trials about several kinds of scouring technology,the most optimum technology was given to solve the leak problem of linen fabric. Thetechnical process: padding in the alkaline scouring solution→open-width steaming→washing→drying.Thirdly, through the experiments of mercerization which such important parametersas caustic soda concentration, temperature, time, tension, etc., were discussed, the optimummercerization condition was given. The technical process: padding in concentrated causticsoda solution→ventilating in the air→padding in caustic soda solution→expanding byclip→washing and removing caustic soda→steaming→washing→drying.Fourthly, in order to remove the colored impurities on linen fabric, improve thewhiteness of fabric and make the dyed fabric more brilliant, both chlorine bleaching and oxygen bleaching were carried out. The optimum bleaching conditions were given throughexperiments. The technical process: padding in chlorine water→batching→washing→padding in hydrogen peroxide solution→open-width steaming→washing→drying.
