At Present, the standards of environmental protection on particulate emission are more strict in the world. The electrostatic precipitators (ESPs), as a key tool for removing dusts from flue gas , have received the great development. Nevertheless, the ESP is very sensitive to the nature of particulate, if this problem could not be solved, the performance of ESP will be influenced like those mentioned above. We know that when using worse coal involving in the coal with low sulfur, low hydrogen, low iron, low sodium and low potassium, low moisture, as well as high ash, extro-high aluminum and middle-high silicon, the light specific weight, small size and high resistivity for dusts will be caused by such worse coal, namely special difficult dust condition, as a result, the efficiency of ESP will be effected greatly by above reason. In this paper, we, on the premise that a series of comparison tests were done, discuss the configuration format of ESP which can be adapted to this kind of coal, through the evaluation. We think that it is of benefit to improving the performance of EAP by adopting the low gas velocity, big specific area, rational electrodes configuration mode and eligible operation temperature.
